Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants are named after their nesting habits. They hollow out galleries in wood which can lead to structural damage to houses and buildings. Carpenter ants can be found throughout the United States. Luckily there are many products now available specifically for eliminating Carpenter Ants. One treatment method is to drill into the wall voids and directly apply a dust such as, Boractin using a powder blower such as Centrobulb Duster with extension. Another method which is useful especially when the nest can not be located is to use a bait specifically labeled for Carpenter ants such as Advance Granular Carpenter Ant Bait. Perimeter applications of residual pesticides can be effective in preventing outdoor carpenter ants from entering your house. Also don¿t forget to take non-pesticide measures such as trimming back bushes away from the house, and caulking up entry points so that the Carpenter ants can not gain entry in the first place!
